Finally! After anxiously awaiting my Gunny Jancoux leather strap, it has arrived!
While the watch is a serious diver and not really intended for leather, I saw another member's TSAR on a thick strap and thought it was an interesting look and a nice alternative to the Marathon bracelet and rubber strap. After researching and corresponding with Peter of Gunny Straps (who provides excellent service), I decided to commission a 20mm 5mm thick Jancoux Series strap with minimal stitching. These straps are handmade to order, hence the wait - but it is well worth it.
The strap is beautiful, very, very soft, and features a signature and serial number. It is the most comfortable leather strap I own and provides a nice pair of alternate shoes for the Marathon (I usually wear it on a Watchadoo, black NATO, or Bond Zulu). Water resistance is not guaranteed, but that's of no concern to me as my watches stay fairly dry (I know...why wear a diver?? )
