The Gurney Series was inspired by the rising trend of the “Minimalist stitch” straps where then we wanted to create one of our own. We noticed that most of those straps lack uniqueness as they are mostly just single or double colored straps. 

Peter Gunny, Founder of Gunny Straps, figured “Let’s add a patina into it”. After creating a prototype, it looked nice, but it’s not Gunny Straps, as it is not considered “unique” and “art” yet compared to our other designs.

Then an idea sparked. Most patina artist has a common challenge, and that is to mix “warm” and “cool” colors, as both of the color contrast with each other and has to blend smoothly to look nice

It finally got to the level of uniqueness that we wanted, called it the “Gurney Serie”, and put it up for sale. Now watch enthusiasts can experience the hand-painted high level of a mysterious-looking patina on their wrist.
